Recovery Act Case Program: New Ways to Make Government Work for People
The Evans School has partnered with the federal government's National Technical Information Service to create the Recovery Act Case Program, which intends to encourage all agencies and partners to bring forward their best examples of how the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act led to change in the ways that government does its work. Learn more about the Recovery Act Case Program and the upcoming Recovery Act Case Program Case Writing Workshop in Washington, D.C.
International Honors for Recent Grad and Current Student
Recent graduate Michaela Leslie-Rule (MPA '10) received the Young Investigator Award from the International AIDS Society and the Agence Nationale de Recherche sur le SIDA (ANRS) at the XVIII International AIDS Conference in Vienna and student Suzanne Simburg wins a Fulbright U.S. Student Program scholarship to study management and business in Mexico.

More than 150 students became the Evans School’s newest alumni at our Convocation ceremony on June 11. Held in Kane Hall, the event featured a convocation address from General Peter W. Chiarelli, vice chief of staff of the United States Army. Our 2010 Convocation ceremony also marked the celebration of the first graduate from our Ph.D. in Public Policy and Management program, Colleen Chrisinger.Dean Sandra O. Archibald Selected for Governor’s Committee on Transforming Washington’s Budget
Evans School Dean and Professor Sandra O. Archibald was named as one of nearly three dozen leaders invited to serve on Governor Christine Gregoire’s Committee on Transforming Washington’s Budget. The committee will serve in an advisory capacity to the governor and will help conduct executive budget hearings to involve the public in the budget process. The Evans School's 2010 Convocation Ceremony, held Friday, June 11, featured a keynote address from General Peter W. Chiarelli (MPA '80). Chiarelli is the 32nd Vice Chief of Staff of the United States Army, where he is responsible for the day-to-day administration of this 1.1 million-person organization.Ken Smith Joins the Evans School as Senior Lecturer
Dean Sandra O. Archibald announced this week that Ken Smith has accepted an offer to join the Evans School as a senior lecturer this fall. Smith is assistant professor of accounting and information science at Atkinson Graduate School of Management at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon.
