Jason asks:

Do you get good material to learn about the passage of legislation; news sources that cover nuts and bolts about policy and policy decisions? I can imagine an MPA student at the Evans School can get access to good, complex reading.

Efrain responds:

There is a skills workshop called The Olympia Legislative Process taught by Professor David Harrison. During this workshop, we learned about the passage of legislation and had a field trip to Olympia to talk to policy makers and former Evans School students working for the State of Washington.

The Evans School is not necessarily focused in Washington state. The management courses give you general tools that you can use to pass legislation in any setting. If you are really interested in legislation, you can also take courses at the law school that might be more focused on the technicalities of legislative work.
