Jim Reid is the founder and principal of The Falconer Group in Seattle. He teaches courses through Cascade Executive Programs in conflict resolution, negotiation, mediation, and consensus building and serves as the faculty lead for Cascade’s Executive Management Program.
Since the inception of his company in 1995, Reid has served as a consultant to more than sixty federal, state, and local government agencies, and more than thirty nonprofit organizations. He previously served as the director of the King County Department of Development and Environmental Services in the early 1990s overseeing the strengthening of the agency’s leadership by improving customer service and building intergovernmental and public-private coalitions to implement the Washington state’s Growth Management Act. During his time with the county he mediated disputes addressing issues such as natural resources, transportation, housing, energy, telecommunications, parks and recreation, health care, elections reform, and arts and culture.
Reid holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington's Evans School of Public Affairs and a BA from the University of Minnesota where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
