The Evans School of Public Affairs welcomed 185 new students this year for its Master of Public Administration (MPA), Executive MPA, and Ph.D. in Public Policy and Management programs.
“At the Evans School, we train leaders to tackle our world’s greatest challenges,” said Sandra O. Archibald, dean and professor. “We see the potential in each of these new students to become some of the greatest leaders of their generation.”
Approximately half of the 142 students in the MPA program come from Washington state, 49 from out of state, and 15 from the countries of China, Korea, Pakistan, Russia, Mexico, Taiwan, and India. Eight of the incoming MPA students plan on pursuing the Peace Corps Master’s International track.
The Executive MPA program, now in its sixth year, has an incoming class of 38 men and women who work in leadership positions in the public, nonprofit, and private sectors. The students come from Washington state, Alaska, California, Colorado, and Montana.
The Ph.D. in Public Policy and Management program is also growing in size this year with an incoming class of five men and one woman. One of the incoming students is also a Fulbright Scholar.
