Evans School Welcomes New Students
The Evans School of Public Affairs welcomed 185 new students this year for its Master of Public Administration (MPA), Executive MPA, and Ph.D. in Public Policy and Management programs.

Professor Anne Steinemann, who holds a joint appointment at UW's Evans School and Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, found that top-selling laundry products and air fresheners emitted dozens of different chemicals, some of which are toxic or hazardous. Joseph H. Cook Paper Accepted by Vaccine

Human Services Policy Center Receives $10,000 Grant
The Human Services Policy Center, with principal investigator Richard Brandon, received a $10,000 grant from School’s Out Washington to produce 18 maps based on information from the program’s study of the supply-and-demand for afterschool and youth development programs in Washington state.
Electronic Hallway Receives $10,457 Grant
The Electronic Hallway, with principal investigator Steven Rathgeb Smith, received a $10,457 grant from New York University (NYU) through the Ford Foundation to develop teaching notes and education materials from selected case studies, leadership stories, and ethnographies from NYU’s Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
Center for Urban Simulation and Policy Analysis Receives $225,000 Grant
The Center for Urban Simulation and Policy Analysis, with principal investigator Paul Waddell,
received a $225,000 grant from Arizona State University through the
Federal Highway Administration to integrate the software of the
center’s UrbanSim land use model system with that of the AMOS Activity-Based Travel Model developed at Arizona State University and DynaSmart traffic assignment model developed in part at the University of Arizona.
